What To Wear
Wear something that makes you feel awesome.
You: Okay, fine… but what’s the theme? Should I follow a color palette or a specific aesthetic?
Me: Oh, don’t worry about any of that. None. Zero.
You: How do I know HOW formal I should dress?
Me: How formal do you want to dress? As long as you aren’t showing up in ripped jeans or pajamas, I don’t really care.
You: But what if I dress too formal? I don’t want to upstage the bride.
Me: The bride would be thrilled if you did. If you’ve been dying to wear a tuxedo, a white lace jumpsuit, or a floor-length gown—do it. Seriously, don’t even worry about it.
You: Wearing white to a wedding? Absolutely not, that’s a trap.
Me: Nope, not a trap. I don’t care. You can wear white.
You: You aren’t giving me much to work with here. I need rules!
Me: You seem to be having trouble with this concept. To help you choose, just run your outfit through these three “Vibe Checks”:
- The Endurance Test: The celebration goes until 11:30 PM. If your outfit is scratchy or your shoes are lethal by hour three, you’re doing it wrong. Pick something you can actually move and dance in.
- The Photo Test: You will have your photo taken. Choose an outfit that makes you feel proud and confident so that when you see the pictures later, you’ll think, “I look incredible.”
- The Intentionality Test: It’s still a wedding. You don’t need to dress like you are meeting royalty (unless you want to), but you shouldn’t look like you just hit the gym either. While a crisp Hawaiian shirt is great, a T-shirt or bikini isn’t the move.
Bottom Line: This is a moment for YOU to shine. Don’t second-guess yourself—I just want you to express yourself and feel AWESOME!
Seattle

Housing
We’ve decided not to book a specific hotel block to allow everyone the flexibility to find a space that best fits their needs. However, we are currently scouting a few great, affordable options near the venue and will share those recommendations soon!
One of the reasons we chose a March wedding was to help our guests avoid peak-season Seattle hotel prices, but we know finding the right spot can still be a bit of a project. If you’re eager to start booking now, here are a few tips:
-
The Where: The venue is in the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle, WA. You don’t necessarily need to stay in this area to easily access it, but do take the travel logistics into account when booking a potential place to stay.
-
Research the Neighborhood: Seattle is a beautiful city with incredibly diverse pockets, and we want to make sure you’re staying in an area that actually fits your travel style. Whether you’re looking for the high energy of the city center, the quiet of a local suburb, or just the easiest possible commute to the wedding venue, we’d love to give you a local’s perspective! Since urban environments can vary significantly from one block to the next, please reach out before you book. We’re happy to “vibe check” any address to ensure it’s a safe, comfortable, and convenient home base for your trip.
-
Consider Staying Just Outside the City: Staying slightly out of town is a fantastic way to find better rates if you don’t mind a short commute. To the north, Edmonds, Lynnwood, and Everett are great suburban hubs with plenty of amenities. To the east, Bellevue and Redmond and Kirkland (home of the first Costo!) are excellent options, especially now that the new light rail line has fully opened. It’s a pretty spectacular commute—this is actually the world’s first and only light rail to operate on a floating bridge, offering incredible views as you cross the lake. However, if you do choose to stay outside the immediate area, please ensure you have reliable transportation coordinated for the wedding day. While the light rail is a local marvel, you’ll want to double-check the late-night schedules or have a backup plan, like a rideshare or a designated driver, to ensure you get back to your home base safely after the celebration.
-
Look into Group Rentals: If you’re ok staying with group of friends or family, renting a full house through services like Airbnb or Vrbo is often the most budget-friendly way to stay in Seattle. When the cost is split across several guests, these rentals typically offer much better value than individual hotel rooms—plus, you get the bonus of a kitchen and a shared living space to hang out in between exploring the area and attending the celebration. If you’re interested in this option but aren’t sure where to start or who else might want to go in on a house, please reach out to us! We’re more than happy to help “get the ball rolling” by connecting you with other guests or helping you scout out a great rental that fits your group’s size and needs.
Public transit
Seattle has an expansive light rail system, which could enable you to take a bus/uber from the nearest light rail stop to the venue
- The northernmost light rail stop (and therefore the area with the cheapest accomodations) is Lynwood City Center
- The light rail stops running around midnight, be aware of this when planning your trip home
- You could save a lot of money by staying further up in somewhere like Lynwood and taking the transit as opposed to staying right near the venue!
- Refer to the Sound transit website for up to date information.
Car travel
Public transit is by far the cheapest way to get around Seattle. If you can’t or won’t take public transit, consider uber/lyft or renting a car.
- Seattle has the most expensive uber rides in the country.. Consider the price of renting a car if you intend on making multiple journeys/seeing the sights in Seattle.
